1. Product Overview
LUB32 is an original genuine non-reversing power base module belonging to Schneider Electric TeSys U modular integrated motor starter system. It serves as the fundamental power execution unit of the whole starter assembly, which must be matched with LUC series control units to form a complete all-in-one motor controller for three-phase asynchronous motors.
This 3-pole power base is rated at 32 A, supporting maximum 15 kW three-phase motors under 400 V AC power grid. It integrates main power contacts, electromagnetic coil assembly, padlockable rotary operating handle, built-in 1NO+1NC auxiliary signal contacts and screw-type wiring terminals inside one compact modular housing. Adopting plug-and-play modular design, various functional expansion modules can be assembled on its side and top positions freely. It features ultra-high short-circuit breaking capacity, standard 35 mm DIN rail installation and panel screw fixing dual modes, widely applied in machine tools, water pump stations, HVAC ventilation systems, automated production lines, packaging machinery and general industrial low-voltage motor control cabinets. 2. Main Functions
- Main Circuit Power Switching Execution for Motors
Cooperated with matched LUC control units, the internal electromagnetic coil drives main contacts to close or disconnect three-phase power circuit, realizing stable start, stop and running control of three-phase AC motors under AC-43 and AC-44 heavy-duty working conditions.
- LOTO Safety Lockout & Electrical Isolation
The front rotary handle can be locked steadily at OFF position with external padlocks to fulfill Lockout-Tagout industrial safety requirements. A visible contact isolation gap is formed after switching off, thoroughly cutting off downstream motor power supply to avoid accidental energization during equipment maintenance and overhaul.
- Running Status Signal Feedback
Built-in 1 normally open and 1 normally closed linked auxiliary contacts act synchronously with main power contacts, transmitting switch closing, opening and fault tripping signals to PLC systems, indicator lights and remote alarm modules for centralized monitoring and logic interlock control.
- High Short-Circuit Fault Breaking Protection
Equipped with independent arc extinguishing chambers for each pole, it can rapidly break huge short-circuit current within milliseconds. The rated service breaking capacity reaches 50 kA under 440 V AC, effectively protecting internal contacts and upstream distribution lines from short-circuit damage.
