1. Product Overview

TL-N5MY1 is an original Omron square unshielded inductive proximity sensor from the classic TL-N series. It adopts AC 2-wire circuit design with a rated sensing distance of 5 mm. This model outputs Normally Open (NO) switching signal and comes with a standard 2-meter pre-wired cable. It detects ferrous metal targets without physical contact based on high-frequency eddy current induction principle.

The sensor is widely deployed on automated assembly equipment, conveyor machinery, packaging machines, hydraulic equipment and machine tools for metal position detection, stroke limit control and workpiece counting. The square ABS housing supports flexible surface mounting. Built-in surge suppression circuit and IP67 protection rating enable stable operation in ordinary workshop environments with dust, splash water and oil mist.

2. Main Functions

  1. Non-contact Ferrous Metal Detection Detects approaching iron and steel targets without mechanical contact, eliminating wear and extending service life. Sensing distance will decrease when detecting non-ferrous metals such as copper and aluminum.
  2. AC 2-Wire Normally Open Switch Output Directly connects to AC control circuits. The circuit turns ON when metal enters the detection zone, suitable for driving intermediate relays and AC load devices.
  3. Real-time Operation Status Indication Equipped with red LED indicator to display working status, supporting fast on-site installation debugging and fault inspection.
  4. Built-in Surge Suppression Protection Suppresses voltage surge generated by inductive load switching to protect internal electronic components from damage.
