1. Product Overview
LC1D40ABD is an original genuine three-pole electromagnetic contactor belonging to Schneider Electric TeSys Deca LC1D series. Equipped with a 24V DC control coil, this contactor is rated 40A under AC-3 utilization category. It is widely applied to control the start, stop and forward/reverse operation of three-phase asynchronous motors, as well as the switching of inductive and resistive AC loads in machine tools, water pump units, HVAC ventilation systems, automated production lines, packaging machinery and various industrial low-voltage control cabinets.
The contactor is designed with 3 main normally open power contacts and fixed built-in 1NO + 1NC auxiliary contacts. Under 400V AC power supply, it can drive three-phase motors up to 18.5 kW. A freewheeling diode is integrated inside the DC coil to absorb reverse electromotive force generated during coil de-energization, which effectively protects PLC output ports and other precision control components in the front control loop. It supports two installation ways: standard 35 mm DIN rail mounting and panel screw fastening. It can be combined flexibly with thermal overload relays, auxiliary contact blocks, mechanical interlock attachments, time delay modules and other TeSys series accessories to assemble complete motor starter systems for overload protection, interlock control and signal feedback scenarios. 2. Main Functions
- Remote Automatic Load Switching Control
When 24V DC voltage is applied to the electromagnetic coil, the electromagnet is energized to pull the movable contact assembly tightly, closing the main circuit to supply power to downstream motors or loads. Once the coil power is cut off, the spring resets the contacts to disconnect the main circuit. This structure realizes unattended remote start-stop control of three-phase motors and on-off switching of heating equipment, fans and lighting loads.
- Synchronous Status Signal Feedback via Auxiliary Contacts
The built-in 1 normally open and 1 normally closed auxiliary contacts act synchronously with main contacts. They transmit pull-in or release status signals to PLCs, indicator lights and interlock circuits to realize equipment running monitoring and electrical logic interlock.
- Arc Extinguishing Protection for Power Contacts
Each pole is equipped with an independent sealed arc extinguishing chamber. It quickly cools and eliminates electric arcs produced at the moment of circuit breaking, preventing arc ablation, contact welding and wear of silver alloy contacts, extending service life under frequent switching conditions.
- Multifunctional Expansion via Optional Accessories
Various accessories can be installed on the top and side of the contactor, including additional auxiliary contacts, mechanical interlock devices, surge suppressors and pneumatic delay modules, to meet demands of multi-channel signal output, motor positive and negative rotation interlock and delayed switching control.
